Exciting update for online and mobile banking security

As of October 31, 2023, we’ve enhanced your online and mobile banking experience with a new option for securing your accounts. In addition to your Access ID and Passcode, when you are prompted for an additional authentication step, known as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), you now have the option to receive a security code sent to your email address or mobile number.

A security code is for one-time use and will be valid for 10 minutes from the time it is requested. If the code is not entered within that time limit, you can request a new code. You will still have the option to answer your pre-selected security questions.

Setting Security Code Delivery Preferences:

Make changes to your security code delivery preferences by logging into your online banking profile:

  1. Click the Services & Settings tab then Security Code Delivery
  2. Select from the available email addresses and mobile number associated with the online banking profile.
  3. If a mobile number has not been enabled, click the link Enroll to receive text alerts and follow the prompts.

*Receiving a security code by text message requires a mobile number enrolled for text alerts. Follow the steps below to connect your mobile number to your online banking profile:

  1. Click the Alerts menu (bell icon) in the upper-right corner of online banking, then click Settings
  2. If the mobile number isn’t connected to online banking, click I want to and then select Change Contact Information
  3. After answering verification questions, add your mobile phone number and follow the prompts
  4. Click Enroll to receive text alerts
  5. Click on the Services & Settings tab and select Security Code Delivery and check the box for Send Security Code via Text Alert

Remember, Peoples Bank doesn’t charge for text messages, but your mobile service provider’s text and data rates may apply.
