Mobile Banking Upgrade

Our Mobile Banking application was upgraded on June 22, 2021

The new mobile experience included the following upgrades:

  • A modern design and interface
  • Set up fixed recurring transfers right inside the app
  • Biometrics for Android & iPhone users (Touch ID and Face ID)
  • Updated user experience

Upgrade Process

If you are using version 4.6.5 or earlier of our mobile banking app, you will need to upgrade to the new version. The upgrade process is straightforward, but varies depending on your mobile device and app version:


iPhone users:

If enabled, Auto-update should update the application without any action on your part. However, there may be conditions that prevent the update from happening automatically. These conditions include device Wi-Fi, data network settings or other circumstances that may require a manual update of the existing application. If you are having issues with the current application, follow these instructions to update manually:

  1. Open the Apple App Store on your iPhone
  2. Select the Profile Picture (Person Icon)
  3. Scroll down to the Upcoming Automatic Updates
  4. From here, you can opt to update all available apps or scroll to the Peoples Bank application and tap the update button
If you open the mobile banking app on your iPhone and see a message “Our Mobile Banking Solution has changed. Please check our website for more information”, it means that the app didn’t automatically update. Follow the steps above to update.

If you do not have the Peoples Bank app installed, follow these steps:
  1. Click this link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/peoples-bank-nc-mobile/id592494339?mt=8  from your iPhone or open the Apple App Store and search for Peoples Bank NC
  2. Tap the Get button to download and install the app


Android users:

You will be required to remove the old application from your device first by following these steps:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app on your Android phone
  2. Tap the Menu and then My Apps & Games
  3. Tap on the Peoples Bank NC app
  4. Tap Uninstall
Follow these steps to install the new app:

    from your Android phone or open the Google Play Store app and search for Peoples Bank NC
  2. Tap on the Peoples Bank NC app
  3. Tap Install

Commercial Mobile App users:

The Commercial Mobile App has been combined with our standard mobile app for a more unified experience. Commercial app users need to delete the old app from their device and download the new combined version from the Apple or Google Play app stores.

iPhone users:
Follow these steps to remove the Commercial Mobile app from your phone:

  1. Touch and hold the Peoples Bank app icon on your phone’s home screen
  2. Tap Remove App
  3. Tap Delete App, then tap Delete to confirm

If you touch and hold the Peoples Bank app icon and the apps start to jiggle:

  1. Tap the Remove icon (minus sign) in the upper-left corner of the app
  2. Tap Delete App, then tap Delete to confirm
  3. Tap Done
Follow these steps to install the updated Standard Mobile app:
  1. Click this link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/peoples-bank-nc-mobile/id592494339?mt=8  from your iPhone or open the Apple App Store and search for Peoples Bank NC
  2. Tap the Get button to download and install the app

Android users:
Follow these steps to remove the Commercial Mobile app from your phone:
  1. Open the Google Play Store app on your Android phone.
  2. Tap the Menu and then My Apps & Games.
  3. Tap on the Peoples Bank NC app.
  4. Tap Uninstall.

Follow these steps to install the new updated app:

    from your Android phone or open the Google Play Store app and search for Peoples Bank NC
  2. Tap on the Peoples Bank NC app
  3. Tap Install

Minimum device requirements:
  • iPhone: iOS version 12.4.8 and above, iPhone version 6s and above
  • Android: version 9 and above

SMS/Text Banking

The number that you use to send and receive SMS messages was also changed on June 22, 2021. Due to laws that require users to manually opt-in to receiving text messages, you will have to re-enroll in the service through online banking. Enrollment in text banking does not require you to have the mobile app. Follow these steps to re-enroll your mobile number:

  1. Click Login at the top of this page to login to online banking
  2. Click the Welcome menu and select All Services & Settings, then click on Text Banking
  3. Click on Text Banking under the Banking Services section
  4. Click the Enroll New Device button, enter your mobile phone number and accept the terms and conditions
  5. The system will send a registration code by text message to the mobile number entered, return to online banking and enter that code to complete the process

HE Help: View help for Text Banking actions
S Stop: Unenroll from Text Banking services
