Jennifer Turner Brightens the Future of Foster Families
Adoptive parent and credit analyst, Jennifer Turner, discovered a vibrant community at a quarterly support group event for foster and adoptive families. Inspired by her co-worker’s passion for fostering children, Jennifer embarked on her own journey as a foster parent.
She began attending fostering classes and joined a newly-formed support group at a nearby church. This support system not only nurtured Jennifer’s personal growth, but also evolved into a prosperous non-profit organization where she now serves as a Board member.
Over time, the organization has expanded its vision – catering to the physical and emotional needs of more than 700 children across Catawba, Caldwell, Burke, and Alexander counties. Providing an array of essential items, from freezer meals and diapers to mattresses, Fostering Hope Catawba Valley ensures a nurturing environment for foster and adoptive families.
Jennifer often reflects on how being part of Fostering Hope Catawba Valley has transformed the lives of so many vulnerable children and given them a chance to find their footing.
“Being a part of Fostering Hope Catawba Valley is incredibly rewarding,” notes Jennifer. “The organization positively impacts so many children, essentially creating a nurturing ‘village’ in which they can flourish.”
Peoples Bank has gone above and beyond in its dedication to community enrichment. Last year, more than 500 volunteer hours were logged by the bank’s employees – including Jennifer’s time spent with Fostering Hope – that have enriched people’s lives and sparked lasting change by investing resources into meaningful causes to enrich the lives of those who need it most.
