NEWTON, NC – Peoples Bank welcomes Thomas McTier II as Senior Vice President, Area Executive. Based in Charlotte, McTier will serve as the Bank’s primary market leader for the Charlotte metropolitan area, driving growth initiatives, building and strengthening business relationships, and leading commercial banking efforts across one of North Carolina’s most dynamic markets.
In his role, McTier is responsible for the growth of the commercial loan portfolio, commercial deposits, and treasury management services throughout the Charlotte market. He leads a team of banking professionals working to expand Peoples Bank’s brand presence and partnering with community organizations to support the Bank’s commitment to being an engaged corporate citizen.

McTier brings extensive commercial banking experience to Peoples Bank, having held leadership and relationship management roles with other financial institutions. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with middle-market and owner-operated businesses, providing tailored commercial and industrial lending solutions, owner-occupied commercial real estate financing, investor real estate lending, treasury management services, and deposit relationship development.

McTier serves on the Board of Directors for BEFCOR, a nonprofit organization that helps provide affordable financing solutions through SBA 504 and Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) loan programs, supporting economic development and small business growth across the region.
He earned a Bachelor of Business Management degree from Cleveland State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
McTier and his wife, Tamika, have been married for 22 years and have two children, Jasmine and Jalen. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, golfing and staying active in the gym.
